Brier Heart signs publishing deal with The Unbound Press

Updated: Jun 10, 2021

We are delighted to announce that Brier Heart has signed again, with The Unbound Press to publish her upcoming book, Menopause Wisdoms: Re-Claiming the True Nature of Who You Are.

As a post-menopausal woman, or as she prefers to call herself a woman becoming crone, Brier is at last, dancing to her own rhythm. This was not so for many years. But as she stepped over the threshold into her menopause journey, she had no other choice than to surrender to the alchemy of the inevitable mind, body and spirit changes this magnificent transformation was gifting to her.

As Brier shares “How could I not write about and share what I had experienced and learnt through those years of reclaiming the true nature of who I am? How could I not share the pathways I discovered to rewilding, to unbinding myself from the conditioning of a patriarchal society that continues to diminish women as they enter what is actually an initiation into becoming a potent and powerful woman?”

Having re-claimed the true nature of who she is, Brier holds space for those of us who wish to change the narrative and journey our menopause years as an alchemical transformation.

'Menopause Wisdoms' invites us to challenge the negative language, attitudes and behaviours that have shrouded our menopausal experience for generations.

At the heart of what she writes are the voices of eleven women who share their unique stories with powerful authenticity. From menarche to post-menopause, 'a pathway to becoming crone', we are taken on an exploration of what our mind, body and spirit changes offer us. We discover beautiful possibilities to re-wild ourselves and to dance to our own rhythm, through a journey of wellbeing ideas and practices, providing us with insights and learning from Brier's lived experiences as she travelled her menopause years.

Wherever you are on your transformative adventure, Menopause Wisdoms is a must-have book, 'a companion' to hold you and guide you within a container of love and sisterhood.

The Unbound Press are thrilled to be working again with Brier (whose first book, Take Off Your Armour and Have a Cup of Tea, was released in October 2019 under the name of Angie Northwood). This is a much-needed book, as it absolutely feels like time to reclaim this part of the female journey and honour it for the true gift it is!
