Anna Bromley signs publishing deal with The Unbound Press

We are thrilled to announce that Anna Bromley has signed a deal with The Unbound Press to publish her next book, her first magical fiction book, The Unicorn and the White Lion – Guardians of the Wild: Book 1.

About The Unicorn and the White Lion – Guardians of the Wild: Book 1:

15-year-old Grace gets a scholarship to Fairstone School. Nervous and unsure of herself, she feels she doesn’t fit in with the confident, rich kids at boarding school – until she is befriended by Archie and Daisy, two kids in her Form who take her under their wings. 

Walking in the woods one day, the three friends meet a wise old woman, Nanny Watkins, a skilled healer, versed in the indigenous magical ways of Britain, passed down to her through an ancient lineage. 

Nanny begins to teach the kids her magical ways – how to work with their dreams, how to meet their spirit guides and how to discover their life’s mission. They are told by their guide, Regulus the White Lion, that they are on a mission to become Guardians of the Wild.

Meanwhile, deep in the White Mountains, a magical white foal is born under a falling star. He grows a spiral horn of light and has a gift for healing. But difference brings danger, and his fate is entwined with the fate of the three kids.

By the end of the book, Grace comes to learn that the very characteristics that she thought marked her out as weird and different, are the skills and talents that make her unique and a powerfully magical person. And they are the skills that make Nanny Watkins decide to take her on as her apprentice.

Full of humour, heart and hilariously chaotic boarding school capers, this coming-of-age book seamlessly weaves shamanic and magical practices into the narrative and will appeal to all ages and particularly to fans of Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching series and the Harry Potter series.

About Anna Bromley:

Anna is a Shamanic Teacher and Healer, an Active Dreamer, a Journeyer between the Worlds, a Writer, a Wordsmith, a Writing Coach and an Editor.

She was inspired to write this, her first novel, based on her own experience of feeling that she didn’t fit in. She wanted to write a coming of age book for teenagers that weaves in the teaching of magical and shamanic practices into a humorous adventure story.

Anna uses her shamanic journeying skills to help inspire her writing and brings these techniques into her work as a writing coach to help you draw on inspiration from the magical realms and your dreams.

She is an Active Dreamwork Teacher, trained by Robert Moss. She can help you to make sense of your dreams and to use what comes through in your dreams for your healing and inspiration. 

Just like Nanny Watkins, she is experienced in all the core techniques of shamanism, as well as many other healing therapies. Her power animals have inspired some of the characters in this book. She is skilled at shamanic journeying with her guides to find information to help you on your soul’s journey. She can connect you with your guides and power animals. She can help you recover parts of your soul that may have gone away through trauma. She can help you with extracting energy intrusions, with house healing and with psychopomp. And she can teach you how to journey for yourself.

Anna lives in the beautiful Black Mountains of Herefordshire in the UK, with her husband Bill, her daughter, her cat – Mr Reggie Bonbons (aka Agent Fluff), and her Springador, Holly. Her passions include exploring sacred sites such as stone circles, and leyline hunting. She also enjoys painting and all forms of yarn craft.

This is Anna’s third book, her first being Wild Animals and Wedding Outfits: A voyage of self-discovery around the world with Bill, her husband. Her second book, published by The Unbound Press, is A Wild Adventure on the Big C: My Journey of Natural Healing for Cancer.
