We are so excited to announce that Amy Babiarz has signed a deal with The Unbound Press to publish her second book, Before We Rise.
Before We Rise is the sequel to After the Last Fall; it dives deeper into Jace undoing all the harmful coping mechanisms she's hidden behind for so long and allowing herself to be humbled through growth, change, and not always knowing what to do. She approaches her mental health head on, learning to accept help from those around her while trying to lead her court into a time of growth and healing - and finding love along the way. It's a YA fantasy novel, aimed at anyone looking for positive LGBTQ representation and a story where being lost doesn't always mean you can't be found.
Of the inspiration behind and the intention for Before We Rise, Amy says:
‘I've been writing since I was 7, and I've always known that I wanted to get my books into the world. This is the sequel to my first book, and drives home the same messages I think are crucial to share: removing the stigma of mental health, showing fierceness within varying forms of femininity, and being comfortable with discomfort.’
