The Unbound Press is thrilled to announce that Rachael B. has signed her second publishing deal with us to publish her forthcoming book, From the Ashes.

On From the Ashes, Rachael shares:
‘I have wanted to write this book for a long time, to support victims/survivors of domestic abuse in all its forms. My intention and motivation is to recognise, empathise and empower women who have experienced (or are experiencing) abusive or toxic relationships. From a young age, I used to see women in these situations (and have experienced them myself) and as I grew up, I came to understand that the answer to the often asked question, ‘why doesn't she leave?’ was complex, and that judgement helps no-one.
This collection is my story, your story, and the story of anyone for whom it resonates. It’s for all the women before us, all the women after us, for the men who are (or genuinely trying to be) better, and for those who are willing to change.’
About Rachael:
Rachael B. is a freelance writer, poet and personal coach. She refers to herself as a ‘self-care activist and growth catalyst,’ to describe the work she does to facilitate personal and professional growth, offering a gentle, non-judgemental space for both.
On a day-to-day basis, Rachael writes for small businesses, freelancers and charitable organisations – anyone led by purpose to make a positive difference in the world. She especially enjoys working with those who focus on community, neuroinclusion, SEND education and women empowering women. Her favourite medium is poetry, because it can be the quickest way to speak directly to, or write directly from, the inner wisdom we all have. It tricks the conscious mind with its pretty metaphors and slips in discreetly, so that emotions are stirred before you even begin to really process what the words mean.
She hopes that this book will empower those women who need it and facilitate understanding in anyone who picks it up.
The Unbound Press is truly honoured to support Rachael B. with the birth of her second book with us (the first being Sauce Will Thicken on Standing, published in 2023). From the Ashes is set to be a powerful, groundbreaking collection and we know its effects will ripple far and wide with bringing the spotlight to such an important issue.
