We are jumping with joy to announce that Mariella Pearson has signed a deal with The Unbound Press to publish her first book, Libidos and Life Lessons.
Of the inspiration and purpose behind Libidos and Life Lessons, Mariella says:
“I’m just a girl, sitting in front of a tub of Ben and Jerry's, asking it to solve my problems.
I started writing my book to help stop the constant chatter in my head, and make sense of the events that unfolded around me. I managed to make myself laugh at situations, and hoped that if anyone ever read it, they too could laugh and make themselves feel better about being of an age where everyone expects you to have your shit figured out. At best I thought this may turn into a book people can read whilst on the toilet…
My book definitely started more as a MENmoir and has turned into a MEmoir. It’s a journey through my life from thinking men and relationships were what defined me, and later realising that it was neither. Through the journey of writing I have come to embrace myself, as fully I can for the moment! I try to encourage myself as well as the other badass women around me to be sexually confident and embrace the skin they are in. It is something I have struggled with over the years and through telling my own story, I hope that we can come together and dispel society’s expectations for not only our appearance but how we are “meant” to live our lives.”
